A Rare Find for a Disneyana Collector! Here for sale is a rare, long-retired collectible sculpture from the Walt Disney Classics Collection Enchanted Places series. This is "The Woodcutter's Cottage" from "Sleeping Beauty", the 16th animated film by Walt Disney, released in 1959.
Both "The Woodcutter's Cottage" and the "Briar Rose" miniature are still brand-new, in pristine condition, as I bought them in 1996 but never was able to display them in my personal collection. They have been stored in a smoke-free home. The WDCC Enchanted Places "Woodcutter's Cottage" was sculpted by Disney artist Valerie Edwards, and originally released in 1996.
The cottage has a brass nameplate on the bottom of the sculpture, with an individual "deed number" engraved on it. It also comes with the original "Deed" to the cottage, the Certificate of Authenticity, and a wooden display base with brass nameplate attached on the center front. This "Woodcutter's Cottage" sculpture is 6 3/4" tall, 7" wide, and 63/4 in depth. When displayed on the wooden base, the figurine is about 7 1/2 tall. The Briar Rose miniature is just under 1 tall, and is intricately hand-painted!Otherwise, there is very little shelf-wear on either box.
