WHEN JOUSTING JOHN IS AROUND, YOU WON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT INVADING PIRATES. HE HAS HIS TRUSTY WOODEN SWORD AT THE READY TO PROTECT YOU!

This Disney WDCC JOHN figurine from PETER PAN is a must-have for any collector. With a height of 6 inches, it depicts the beloved character from the classic Disney movie. It features John dressed in his nightgown about to get in a heated battle with imaginary pirates.

He points his wooden sword toward his nemesis and holds a hanger in his hand. A great standalone piece that is also part of a bigger Bedroom scene from Peter Pan. The figurine is approximately 5 3/4 tall.

It comes in its original box and packaging along with a Certificate of Authenticity. The piece was expertly sculpted by Disney Artist Kent Melton. This sculpture was displayed for a short period, and then packaged up in its box and stored in a closet with other WDCC figures. It is in excellent condition and would be a great addition to any Disney or WDCC collection.

NOTE: I have added a few close-up photos at the end that show the figurine under a ring light. When I did this, I noticed some slight grazing on John's face.

But I only noticed this after taking the pictures and blowing them up. The rest of him appears to be fine. No cracks, chips or scratches. This sculpture is a part of the Darling Nursery Scene that was released in 2000 and included Wendy, John, and Michael Darling and Nana (2000 Members Only Scene Completer) and the Bed Base to display John and Michael. In 2001, Peter Pan and the Window Base were added.

Here's a little info on Peter Pan I found on Wikipedia. Peter Pan is a 1953 American animated adventure fantasy film produced in 1952 by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures. Barrie's 1904 play Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, the film was directed by Hamilton Luske, Clyde Geronimi, and Wilfred Jackson. Featuring the voices of Bobby Driscoll, Kathryn Beaumont, Hans Conried, and Bill Thompson, the film's plot follows Wendy Darling and her two brothers, who meet the never-growing-up Peter Pan and travel with him to the island of Never Land to stay young, where they also have to face Peter's archenemy, Captain Hook.

Here's a little about the Walt Disney Classics Collection from their website. The Classics Collection started in 1992 with three scenes, Bambi, Cinderella, and Fantasia's Sorcerer Apprentice. Many other series have since been introduced. Some figurines are limited, and some have been retired. Some of these figurines have risen high on the secondary market. The figurines are made of porcelain, and the process is similar to that use to make Hummel figurines. Individual pieces are molded, put together, and fired in an oven. Then they are painted and fired again. Each figurine is marked on the bottom, signifying the year it was produced. The marks represent significant milestones in Disney history.

The figurines with the first year mark are usually the most desirable.
